In 2021, Black Hills Energy began a multiyear project to update natural gas service in certain neighborhoods in Lincoln, Nebraska. As technology has advanced, installing meters outside of a structure has become the industry standard.

Auburn bare steel replacement project

In 2024, the company will begin a bare-steel natural gas main project. Pipes will be replaced with new polyethylene piping which is more resistant to corrosion and is adaptable to the changing needs of the Auburn, Nebraska, community.
